These are great low cut socks. They are comfortable for wearing around the house, great for walking around and while they are not heavily padded, the amount of padding is certainly sufficient. I've always used regular walking, skiing, and hiking socks year round but there is no reason to keep doing that through the summer when these are so comfortable with or without shoes and fit great.It seems like the product description has the mens and womens sizing backwards. I wear a size 10.5 shoe and got the large size. They fit great. You can see them on my feet in a couple of the photos. They might be a little too short to wear in hiking boots but for tennis shoes and trail runners they come up high enough on the back of the foot to make sure the shoes don't rub on the back of the foot or the ankles.Very nice quality comfortable socks all the way around. 5 stars!
