Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Topeak BabySeat Child Bike Seat with Aluminum Rack: Enhanced Disc Mount Version by Teresa Olson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better than iBert Remember to recall the modified hinge cover.

It holds baby securely, has springs to absorb shock and is very easy to put on and take off when securely latched. My wife and I bought two racks and a seat and it takes sixty seconds to move it from one bike to another. This seat is being recalled because of claims that children's hands could get caught by the sling, but (a) it's hard to imagine that's going to happen when you know it's a problem; and (b) email Topeak and they will send you an upgrade kit to cover this. We also tried the iBert, which has much higher ratings, but found it useless because our knees touched it and it was harder to reach the handlebars. It's similar to carrying baskets, but with a slightly higher center of gravity. A baby can sleep in it, it doesn't look particularly comfortable - our daughter is looking for a comfortable place to rest her head, much like an adult trying to sleep in the passenger seat of a car without reclined. - but quite possible. The disc carrier will fit non-disc brakes, so it looks like it needs to be ordered. It's hard for me to think of any advantages of the non-disc version.
