It must be 35 years since I lived anywhere that I needed an electric blanket at night. God, how have they changed! This one is so soft and light. The wires that run through it to disperse the heat aren't like the cords from the old lamps that I remember. It is not manipulated as I remember it. Unless it's on, you'll hardly know it's electric. Be sure to follow the setup instructions as written. One slider is for the right and one for the left. The bottom tag comes out. Do it. Let it warm up first. Be patient. It's not a heating pad. It doesn't heat up through your top spread. It keeps you warm I felt it from the top of the blanket to my toes. Turned it from high to 3 and it was still toasted. Actually, I turned it off before I went to bed. When winter really comes, it's okay to warm up the bed before I go to bed. I will find the perfect setting for a comfortable night without heating all night!
