I bought four of these to finally see all my jewelry and they worked great. All your hook and loop earrings can be worn over a wire frame finish. The shelf has a narrow recess for small ear studs. Important note: This device is NOT suitable for large earrings or hoop earrings that do not fit around the stem. You can only reach the wire from the front, so there is no way to hang it from the back of the earring. For this type of earring, you need a different solution. The detachable rod is perfect for hanging bracelets and large hoop earrings. I put a wooden board with hooks underneath and added lots of chains - perfect. One of mine had a broken hook and I was frustrated, but then I realized they had added a few extras. There were also extra wall anchors and screws in case you get confused about hanging (which I did). I'm not particularly gifted so I struggled to get the screws in the right place and hang them straight. But this is a high quality and beautiful product.
