I love this bag. That's a lot more than 13 inches. It really fits a 15 inch laptop. I love the side pocket, it has plenty of room for extra stuff you need for your laptop and it also has a zipper on the side pocket. My external hard drive fits in perfectly. The quality feels great! I really think the size description should be changed. I have a 13.3" Dell XPS laptop. And I know that the laptop tray is much smaller than a real 13" laptop because of the screen. However, there is a big size difference that makes me think it's more like it It's a 15" screen. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
