Review on ๐ŸŽฎ EEEKit PS2 to HDMI Converter Adapter with Audio Output Cable for Sony PlayStation 2 - Enhance HDTV and HDMI Monitor Gaming Experience by Shawn Tolbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well after a little adventure to switch the default RGB console hue.

The manual is missing instructions on how to connect the included USB cable to one of the PS2 USB ports needed to power the converter. [Edit: Blank screen? Read on to find out how to work around this problem.] One star because the USB cable connector on the converter side abuts the PS2 slim power cable's own connector at transverse angles, which is impractical at best due to the converter's design ( an inherent disadvantage and other brands). An audio cable is not supplied unless it is clear from the listing, but a plug is supplied if required. I have an inexpensive US model Hisense H5 40 inch TV and haven't noticed any flickering or no picture. The image flickered the moment I switched the RBG PS2 setting to YPbPr*. The image quality is still PS2 era quality, but I didn't expect the converter to improve it intermittently and marginally. *Searching online before buying gave me a bunch of buttons to blindly change the settings. Worked like a charm when the converter arrived. 1. Boot PS2 without disc. 2. Wait about 20 seconds. 3. Press [down] [X] (to select System Settings) 4. Press [down] [down] [down] [X] (to select Video Selection) 5. Press [right] then [X] (to later switch from RGB to YPbPr or vice versa). The display immediately flashed and the usual beeps sounded again. If I'm having trouble, I'd wait a bit between steps or try a different DualShock2 controller. Also, use the D-Pad, not the left analog stick, and check if there is an audio CD, DVD, or game disc (booting to a different display) in it.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Nothing

Works fine after a small adventure in toggling console's RGB default blind.
