We didn't remove the plug from our open sink so we had to break these sticks to slide them under the plug and into the drainpipe. Our bathroom sink drained very slowly and we were hoping they could open up to make it drain faster. We did a stick one week and then a second the next week when my wife started getting annoyed that nothing was happening. After the second week nothing has improved, maybe the sticks haven't even dissolved yet, but we bought and used a jug of liquid drainage and clog anyway and the drainage got better but still not fast. Anyway, sticks can be good for maintaining good drainage, but we've seen no evidence that they eliminate our slow drain, although we didn't give it much of a chance.
