Review on ๐ŸŒง๏ธ Ivation IVADM45 Intelligent Dehumidifier - Powerful Mid-Size Thermo-Electric Unit with Auto Humidistat for Small Spaces up to 100 Sq Ft by Leslie Harris

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Average - at best: heating, cooling and air quality

I've searched the web for the best dehumidifiers and this unit was one of the top 5 on these sites, describing it as a "powerful mid-size" (probably , copied Revane's description). I was looking for something for a single room so I bought it. For a dehumidifier it is quite quiet and small. I've had this device for about a month. It works but is minimally efficient. For example, I used this unit in my medium sized bedroom for 3 consecutive days with the humidity controller set to 50. It ran non-stop, never shut down (as far as I know) and still didn't fill the small bucket (halfway, actually). . To say that this is a "strong midsize car" is just ridiculous. This device is best suited for a small room. Even then it is doubtful. I recently bought a 70 pin Frigidaire FFAD7033R1 unit (also one of the top 5) for my basement (much more space than my bedroom) and this thing fills its much larger bucket in less than 24 hours (humidity control set to 50 as well) . This is a compressor unit, not Peltier technology, and it certainly gets the job done. There are other good brands but I went with the ones I chose based on the reviews. Let's get back to this device. It's decent, but the big issue is the cost. At $99, this device is terrible value. It's supposed to cost 60-70 dollars, and then only because of the hygrostat. The bottom line is, if you're looking for a mid-range dehumidifier, you can get the lower-end version of the Frigidaire I bought. Mine is 70, they also make 50 and 30. If you are looking for a medium size go for 30, it costs about $50-60 more than this one, but in my experience the difference will be day and night.
