Very soft and very good grip. I love gold socks. My daughter loves the fit and the colors. *****EDIT************ I love the gold toe socks for my son and daughter. However, I cannot recommend these beautiful and soft socks. I bought my first pack for my daughter and she loved it. They fit her perfectly so I ordered a second batch. But after a month of wearing almost all pairs are now in the trash because of HUGE heel holes. First I blamed my daughter for catching the couple on the wooden floor or something. But she said she noticed the pills building up on the heel and then they fell off leaving the heel almost transparent and then the next wear was a huge hole. I think the material is actually too soft for prolonged wear. My daughter has other WHITE gold socks that are in good condition. Same kid, same demeanor, white rose, neon decayed. I'm disappointed in the quality of these socks and will probably try Joe Boxer for her next batch of socks. We've had them before - she doesn't like them much and they wear out too, but not in a month.
