For formal or business casual style, moccasins are becoming my favorite work shoe. This is due to the obvious design which makes them very comfortable and also the way they take the pressure off my already aching feet. I'm an avid runner and do it 6-7 days a week which always makes my legs a little sore. I have found that as we age the more traditional lace up look can become tiring. This is because such shoes cover the foot for the most part, enclosing it from all sides. Also, the heel area can act as a bulky mass that adds weight to the legs. I'm happy to report that these wonderful Journey West loafers are as comfortable as can be. I don't just mean evening shoes, but in general. They are so comfortable they look like slippers. In some places they are about thin enough, but not thin enough to suggest their fragility. I love the suede outer layer which goes great with this tan. In my opinion, suede looks best in tan or brown. I work at a job that has a lot of slate style tiles and walking around in thick heels of lace up shoes can get noisy. The bottom of this Journey West shoe is so thin it borders on slippers. The heel is about a quarter the height of a traditional shoe, making them very quiet. The underside still has a nice tread pattern to keep you from slipping on smooth or heavily laminated surfaces. I'm a big fan of the center tassel, which is a rare occasion when I really like a tassel. It just seems to work properly here. There are actually two tassels that bounce slightly when walking. Love the light use of dark brown that appears in a thin line around the perimeter of the front, as well as a few other small flecks. In summary, I am very happy with these shoes and would recommend them to anyone who values style combined with comfort.
