I only washed it to mix my grandson with some chocolate milk. Has NOT expired. It works great! I didn't realize the lid was actually square until I opened the package. I was surprised. { NO, but I don't always look at all the pictures or the whole description. Probably should. I mainly go by product photos, reviews and most importantly price! } I thought it was so neat. I was expecting the same round caps as the Rubbermaid brand. I liked this one so much that I bought another one. It's a big little jug. I have fairly small hands and am of an age where everything aches and hurts over time so this pitcher isn't just a good size. It's easy to hold in your hand and the lid is nice because it's like a quarter turn. I don't have to fool around, turning it and trying to align the spout like those other jugs that seem like it takes forever to get the lid closed properly so that it aligns front and center just because it ends up having another one little is the way. THIS IS THE BEST JUG I HAVE EVER BUYED AND THE PRICE IS A LITTLE HIGH FOR THE SIZE. But in a way it's almost worth it since they have a quarter turn.
