This is a very versatile calligraphy set. The wooden stick lies very comfortably in the hand. There are 11 additional tips with different sized tips. Replacing a pen is as easy as pulling out the old one and inserting the new one. This allows you to explore the effect on lines, shapes, and letters of using different sized nibs. You can find out which ones work best for you and your handwriting. When writing, there is a small brass pen holder. The set also includes ink of two different colors - black and red. All this in a richly illustrated box which also makes a great gift. My only complaint, and this is the "what they were thinking" moment, is that the neck of the inkwell is too narrow to dip a pen into. requires you to pour all or part of the bottle into another tank to dip the pen into. I used a small jar that matches the size of the letter and I can close it easily. But with so much effort that went into this set, you'd think someone would have caught on and either changed the size or preferably the bottle. However, this pen works very well and is fun to write with.
