Bought to replace a dying Philips trimmer I've had for years and the rechargeable battery wouldn't last for one use. Before buying this trimmer, I had not noticed that it cannot be used as an edge trimmer due to its design. The cut catcher is in front of the blade, which means the blade never comes into direct contact with your skin. The gap for the trap is about 1/8 inch deep. The collection container does make for a cleaner sink when in use, but not 100% as there is still some dirt left. The trap does not prevent hair from entering. , so if you make the same mistake I made throwing it in the box and it tips over, the hair will fall out where it lands. As I still need a trimmer I disassembled my old Philips trimmer and replaced the non-removable battery :) The battery level indicator and digital depth gauge on this trimmer are tricks as I never needed them on my old trimmer.
