This review is for the playhouse option We love K&H products. For a number of years we have been particularly keen on using their heating pads. Our aging kittens and even our well-insulated *cough-fat-cough* tabby cat, they all loved braving themselves in the coldest Sunning on a heating pad in winter days. Our house is not very warm, so cozy corners are a must. The grills are excellent. The heat level is comparable to the heat that remains after someone has sat in one place for a while. They are not the kind that gets hot, which is good, they're very low wattage (4W) and produce a barely perceptible heat to the touch, but just enough g to keep a cat or dog warm, stay warm and not rely on their own body heat. If you have an aging or ailing pet, you know this will be very helpful. They most likely won't overheat, but please make sure they can escape if necessary. Not comfortable or sure to be too hot. Although it has to be turned on and off when not in use, I kept all my devices on 24/7 for months. No problem, but it's up to you. Just look at the reviews for their heating pads and make sure customers mention it. For what it's worth, I'm happy to only buy heating pads from K&H, and I would only do that with their products. I've relied on this brand for so long, maybe I've earned the trust? I hope this continues. We also love this cubic bed style. Well my smaller cats do. My big cats have always had bad luck. These styles of cubes are amazingly durable (we have different brands, styles and they all stand the test of time). They come folded, just add an insert to make the base firm and then a 'lid' which serves to further stabilize but also creates a second level. Here he serves as a scratching post, playground. -- The hole on this one is smaller than some, so it's up to your cat whether he likes it or not. -- The inner pillow is a zippered sleeve for warming the device. -- There is a slot on the back of the cube for the connection cable to pass through. - The black fluffy case is fluffy and soft. That. Know that it can go unused and just use that space as a top bunk to sleep on. Just like a cozy blanket or other bedding. The scraper has a hard base so it can easily stand on the floor. As large as cube-shaped beds are, they are small. My only (slight) disappointment is that it's smaller than my other cube-style beds. Not a big difference (slightly shorter and a few centimeters less deep). For example, one of mine is 15 x 15 x 17 inches and this one is 12 x 14 x 15 inches. It's perfect for my small cats (less than 10lbs) but I'm not sure my big tabby kitten will try to sleep in it. Check the size of the bed to determine if it is suitable for your kitten/small dog. I see that a "Duplex" bench is also offered (longer, has two holes, an additional divider insert, a heating pad, and the top tier is a soft cover). So just see what looks best. Like the other option. Packaging: The easy-to-open small square box contains only this folded cube and accessories and an instruction manual. The box is a typical full color glossy box that can be found as if sold on a store shelf. Great for a gift. It is of course packed in a brown cardboard box for shipping. Overall I am satisfied. If we could give half the ratings I would give 4.5 stars. I'm lucky enough to go with 5 as I think it's a very nice addition to our home and I'm pretty sure my old man will be using this when the temp drops. I expect attention to detail from K&H and they do not disappoint. So 5. Be careful :)
