Excellent lighting. In the house I just bought, the stairs are very dimly lit at night. I bought them and taped them right under the railing so you don't see them. When I walk up or down the stairs, they turn on with no problem. With only two, I have more than enough light to see clearly. Now we need to figure out where to place the third. I would definitely buy them if you need to see them on the stairs, in the closet or anywhere else. The only downside is that in good daylight they still light up like mine (halfway under the rail) but that's not a problem as I'm usually not home during the day anyway. They're also magnetically taped to the wall for easy removal if needed. Excellent purchase! Very satisfied! **Update: Still working great with original batteries after about a month. At first I only used two lights, but now I've added a third one on the bottom landing. I've uploaded a photo of what it looks like walking down the stairs in the dark now. I've had many comments from visitors to the house about how cool this setup looks and how they want to know where they can get one for themselves.**
