I love dark blue and gold together. Looks very classy. The cap is actually plastic, although it looks like metal. I think travel bottles get abused a lot, and a plastic cap actually looks better longer - it's durable and won't get dented. Didn't really test it with cold water or a hot drink - - I bought it for water but I usually like to drink it at room temperature, it holds the temperature well and has decent insulation - it doesn't get hot even when it is is left in the car for a hot day. It's a good travel size if you're on a short trip or have access to a refill pouch, not too big and heavy and easy to pack, and just enough to keep you well hydrated. Great quality, great price. I love it!
