There are a few bad reviews below so before I get to the bag review, let me address the specific complaints.1. Odor - no, it doesn't have a terrible odor. It smells like naturally tanned leather, which may be different than some people are used to. Most people are used to chemically treated leather, which smells different. Regardless, any odor will disappear within a week or two of application, as will any skin. You can also buy a leather spray to get rid of the smell. In addition, the odor disappears within ten minutes of removal from the plastic where it has accumulated for a week or more after packaging and shipping. 2. Color - Anyone who openly complains about skin color has no idea about skin and should not voice such unfounded complaints in a review. NATURALLY it is a different shade than in the photo. Real leather is not uniform unless a solid color dye is used to make it uniform. Most natural leather dyes are light in color with a grainy pattern. The leather will also darken (and soften) with use. If it is the same color as the photo when it arrives, it will be much darker than the photo after a few months of use. Okay, now on to the product itself. I was looking for a leather case to fit my 17.3. "HP Envy laptop for many years. It was really hard to find one that was well made and not worth $300. I took a chance based on the good reviews and was not disappointed. It's all naturally tanned skin, no chemicals , so if you want eco-friendly methods is the way to go.The seller is kind enough to send detailed care instructions with the packaging,although care is the same as for any other leather goods you may have.Like most leather goods,it's something stiff but should become more flexible with use.Adjustable shoulder strap, a nice addition not always seen on a bag's leather.As well as a large, padded center pocket that has room for my laptop and a book or two, there's a large front and back pockets, each capable of holding a couple of 8.5 x 11 hardcover playbooks, as well as slim zippered binder pockets closure at the back and at the front. Additional third pocket for folders with a zip on the back. There are two roomy front pockets on the front of the bag, perfect for a mouse, small notepad, small portable hard drive or other small items. Dual buckle side pockets are perfect for your mobile devices or multi-tool. As a bonus it comes with a nice leather pencil case/pen which I wasn't expecting. All in all a really good bag - light, strong and very well built with more than enough space to take your life with you wherever you go. I was a little disappointed that it is advertised as Prime shipping but it took over a week to arrive but then Revane seems content with the coin charging us Prime and no longer serving the main reason, why people choose it, namely the free two-day delivery. It's just like that I guess. Blame it on Revain, not the manufacturer.
