I liked the idea that it was a self-mixing powder. No need to go to the Lumber Filling Shed to find useless, hardened bricks and then run to the store. Unfortunately I tried using this material to fill some small cracks and holes in my deck but it didn't work very well. It seemed to me that it didn't work as well as the usual wooden spatula. I just found it harder to work with and regular wood putty is better for small repairs. The fact that a pound of this material sells for $1.96 at the time of this review is of little consolation if I cannot rely on it in my work. Despite what he says, and although it's severely dried out, when I repaired it REALLY shrunk, cracked and peeled off thinner sections, so the possibility of it even staying in place was more than questionable. I went back to my regular wood putty which also dries like stone, I know from experience it doesn't shrink and I don't have to mix it with water. I suspect this material is only suitable for minor repairs where shrinkage is unlikely or imperceptible. In my case, Durhams didn't live up to its claims, so I don't recommend it and won't buy again.
