Review on πŸ’‘ UltraPro 36in. Linkable LED Light Fixture: Versatile Brightness Settings for Kitchen Under Cabinet Lighting - slim, convenient, and efficient! by Jackie Archuleta

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice slim light, hides well under cabinet, easy to install

The old under cabinet fluorescent lights that were installed on the wall at the back of the cabinet need to be replaced (Fig. 1) . They lit the wall well but not in front of the counter. I wanted the LED to reduce power consumption, reduce a faint buzz and also get rid of the cold blue cast. I found these lights to be good value for money and most importantly they were nice and thin so they could be installed right in front of the cabinet edge and still not be visible. I wanted "warm white" light and this 2700K fits right in. (Figure 2.) They're pretty bright on high settings, I'll probably leave them on low. The light pattern is also good. In my second take, the two-door cabinet above the fruit is 29 inches wide, but there is only an 18-inch fixture underneath. My old fixtures were more or less permanent - they were installed in front of the bulkhead and tiled all around. So I gutted those lights but continued to use them as a junction box to plug in new lights. First, I removed the switch from the old light fixture and replaced it with a snap-on connector that connected to the switch on the wall. I then simply plugged in the new light and plugged the extra wire into the lamp housing of the old light. (Fig. 3) But then I realized (I should have read the reviews more carefully) that the power cord is nothing special. (Other LED lights have an external circuit that prevents direct connection to 120VAC, but they don't. Instead of installing the plug into an old light, I cut off the end of the plug (or you can use a jumper wire) ., just cut off the 2-pin end) and plug it directly into my switched power supply (photos 4 and 5) As mentioned, the on/off button on the unit is very small, I don't want to fiddle with it every time .
