Review on Kenneth Cole REACTION Perfect Adjustable Men's Accessories by Oscar Colangelo

This is not my first Kenneth Cole ratchet harness. I also bought the Classic Brown variant from this series. Classic brown - 5 stars. I like this. I've been wearing this every day when I wear my brown work khakis for about a year. So the quality is there. This black belt is very stylish, durable and comfortable for a waist size of 34 inches plus. I bought 2 of these. Once for me and once as a Christmas present. So I could test 2 of them at the same time. The only problem I found was pretty awful at first. I tightened the strap to make it snug and feel good. I then tried to loosen the "release" lever on the side of the buckle. This is a typical Kenneth Cole Perfect Fit belt design. Well, he didn't "click" or release the pressure. I kept trying. I felt like I was doing something wrong or going in the wrong direction. Pretty soon I felt like a cat stuck in the handle of a bag. I jumped up and down, panicking that it wouldn't work. I had to undress with a belt tightened, which was excruciatingly difficult. After the pressure in my waist went away and I held my pants and belt in front of me, the lever clicked slightly to release the pressure. I practiced a few times to get used to the "direction" I had to move in. It was the same as the other belt I have. I put my pants back on and tightened my belt. Same problem, I played around with the lever a lot and it wouldn't move. But this time I knew how it worked. I put in more effort than I thought was appropriate for this release and it turned up. Definitely hurt my fingers a bit. I checked the 2nd seat belt and it was exactly the same when not buckled. The first strap stretched a bit and I was worried about breaking it or loosening the buttoned end. I actually participated in this and it's solid metal with a system to attach the end of the belt to the skin. What I've learned here is that this product is a quality belt that doesn't rely on a few nifty leather screws to hold it together. A big plus here is durability during trimming and fixing later. My advice when you get the belt is to practice with the release before putting it on. Remember that it takes some strength to get the lever to click and release the ratchet pressure. The quality, durability and style far outweigh the only downside. Also, it is easier to remove over time as it wears out.
