After much research I ordered this to create exercise DVDs while on vacation. The player arrived a day early, yay. I have read the user manual (briefly) and followed the instructions for charging the battery. When the full battery indicator came on, I inserted the DVD to check the picture/sound quality. Nothing. Tried the whole process again. Still nothing. I plugged the player into the outlet and everything worked. The picture was bright and clear, as was the sound. I took it anyway because I thought maybe the young people I'll be with will see if I'm doing something wrong. You have looked and tried. Still nothing, try to make it work on battery. Extremely disappointing! Especially since I also had no way to play CDs while idling. I have returned the player and am awaiting reimbursement of additional warranty costs.
