I recently noticed that my radio antenna on my Lexus RX 300 won't retract. I didn't even bother to get a quote from Lexus dealers for this repair. . what they take is outrageous. However, I did get an estimate from a name brand repair shop for $300 including work to replace the antenna motor and mast. the radio goes on and off. Replacing the motor is most likely not necessary, but either a worn or broken antenna mast will. Bought this item. The performance antenna mast is a 1999-2003 Lexus RX300 and while I am not a mechanic the instructions for replacing the antenna mast are very simple. I unscrewed the antenna mast nut and pulled the old mast out of the car. I measured the length of the old mast and the length of the new mast and quickly discovered that the mast was indeed broken in the engine. The exchange lasted about an hour and a half. But it was worth it saving nearly $300. So the next time you have trouble with the cell tower staying up and you can hear the engine running, save some money and swap out the cell tower. This is a great product.
