Review on Targus Bluetooth Keyboard Galaxy Black by Mark Hayes

Very disappointed good product for bags, cases and suitcases

I have to say I expected a lot more. I've owned (and still use) several Targus products in the past (backpacks, gym bags, etc.). So when I saw that the "official" Galaxy Tab S6 keyboard case was made by them, I didn't even consider ordering it. The products I have had from them were of quality before, they will continue to be of quality. it was my train of thought. I upgraded from a 2015 Galaxy Tab A 9.7 to an S6 lite, which is quite a big improvement, especially since the old tablet hasn't had software updates in years. I wanted something faster and the same size. The new tablet fits well into the niche with the highest daily selling price. I have a case for an old Logitech tablet and it's perfect except for the lack of a backlight. (Another oversight on my part in this case) I was ordered a second suitcase to compare to this one, but the packaging on it prevented me from even thinking about opening it unless I wanted to keep it (I think a plastic clamshell, but military grade). What worries me the most is that the top half that holds the tray isn't magnetically fixed in either position. The angled look has two plastic/rubber tabs on the bottom that fit into slots. And they work, but don't even think about picking the tablet from the top because those ridges don't hold the crap in place. The other position uses magnets, but they're pretty darn weak, and again, if you're not on a flat surface, don't move won't do anything. In my old case, the magnets were more than strong enough to hold the tablet in place when lifting from the top when flipping it over to reveal the keyboard, which is what I expected here. Well I was wrong and now I have a keyboard that I'm just not happy with. The battery life also sucks in comparison. It's supposed to "turn off automatically," but if you don't flip the switch, it'll run out of power in a few days. The old one lasted over a MONTH (and STILL 5 years later). Call me picky, but it's not what I expected for the $50+, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it at this price point. I think if I could say one good thing about it, it works great as long as it's placed on a flat surface and you don't expect its parts to stay connected when you move it. As a keyboard in this regard, it is sufficient.
