First of all, it doesn't scream "Christmas" to me. It's red, white, and blue, which looks more like the 4th of July to me. It's not bad, just an odd marketing decision. It's not made from the best materials. This is a plastic base with a simple on/off switch and battery compartment. Every time I flip mine to turn it on or put batteries in, at least one of the balls falls off. The tree itself is made of wires wrapped in brown electrical tape. When it burns, it's beautiful. The battery is a double-edged blessing. Of course, there are no cables here, but a battery pack inside with a USB port would make it really amazing. So you need 3 AA batteries. You can take it with you and put it anywhere, so it's a handy feature.
