This is my third little AmeriBag. I bought this battered nylon bag to replace the one I bought 4 years ago which I loved and used a lot until the main zip wore out. I have just received a new bag and am very happy with the small improvements made to the design. My previous bag had velcro on some outside pockets, the new bag has magnetic closures instead - hooray, velcro doesn't stick to everything anymore! On one side of the bag, in the new version, a large outer pocket with a flap has been divided into 2, now there is a narrow pocket for a cell phone (which fits a smaller phone, but of course not my giant Galaxy Note 4 in the Otter Box case ) and a slightly wider pocket (which only fits in my phone with some room on the side). ). The magnetic closure tab means my phone is secure yet easily accessible with one hand. One of the main things I really like about these bags is the number of pockets for organizing - Exterior Pockets: Large open pocket with magnetic closure - Fits a 7" x 5" notepad, also a handy place to keep one small digital camera pocket on zippers - ideal for lip balm, hair ties, cough drops, wallet and other small items. "Phone pouch" with flap and magnetic closure - Fits a smaller phone, chewing gum, maybe a pack of cigarettes. Wider pocket with flap and magnetic closure - Fits my Galaxy Note 4 with limited side space. Open back pocket - perfect for my 24oz Thermos Intak water bottle! Interior Pockets: 2 pen slots - wide enough for 1 pen and 4 sharpie marker lenses, packs of chewing gum or discount cards 1 large open vertical pocket - large enough for my Kindle Paperwhite in a slim sleeve and then another large vertical zippered pocket - handy for medication, feminine hygiene products or other little things. here (anything too thick doesn't leave room for my water bottle on the outside) The main part of the bag is for everything else! Extras inside: key clip - just in the middle of the zip, but placed so that the keys can hang in a large open vertical pocket or a small side pocket so as not to disturb the D-ring - directly into the zip at the top of the bag, this is the perfect place to zip up my Chico reusable shopping bag. I also really like that the main compartment has 2 zippers so I can keep them together at the top or bottom depending on my preference. I've found it's very easy to get to the zippers without removing the bag by holding it underneath.
