Unusable due to characteristic odor

The container had a characteristic odor and I could not use it. No matter how many times I washed it beforehand, it smelled like smoke and burnt plastic. I suspect it might have something to do with where it was made. Besides, it would serve its purpose well; but unfortunately I had to throw mine away.
