Review on πŸŽ’ Seibertron Falcon Waterproof Backpack: Compact Hiking and Camping Bag for Summit Adventures by Matthew Richards

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High Quality Civilian Backpack

TL; DR, This is a very well made Maxpedition Falcon II clone that costs significantly less and has flaws that will probably never affect the lives of civilian users looking for the best deal on this type of backpack. (37 L variant) I was very careful when ordering this bag at first, the name Seibertron was unknown to me and does not offer many other products. I chose to pull the trigger on this bag because of its waterproof claims (I'll explain later in this review) and MOLLE webbing. I bought a 37 liter bag for around $50 and am absolutely blown away by the quality compared to the much more expensive Maxpedition Falcon II which is around 3-4x the price I paid for this Seibertron clone of the Maxpedition offer. Now let's get one thing straight, I'm a student and I use this bag to carry my books, papers and some computer gear around campus, I also use the bag when I go hiking and biking. I don't carry very heavy loads so can't speak about durability but I haven't had any issues with wear and tear and every seam on my bag is near perfect. Each strap is the same length and stitched at the end (there is one exception discussed below), and there is enough slack to adjust each strap to suit its load. The lap belt is not padded but suits a wider waist very well, I have a waist size 38 (male) and the lap belt was comfortable in the standard length. D-rings on the straps are plastic but look nice. And yes, the flag patch comes with the pocket. I only have 2 complaints about this backpack and none of them are important enough for me to rate this bag below 5/5, namely the MOLLE design is not perfect in every way. Bag, especially around the Seibertron logo. The logo is sewn into the pocket leaving no space between it and the actual back pocket so you can't push anything through the logo area and the shoulder straps are NOT sewn in exactly 1.5 inches apart. For my particular bag, this only affects the MOLLE straps on the back pocket, the straps on the sides of the bag, and proper MOLLE design everywhere. My other complaint is very minor, the adjustable backpack shoulder strap is NOT sewn on at the ends and can be completely removed from the plastic release buckle. When I first tried the bag on, I accidentally loosened these straps so much that I took them off. from the turnbuckle and the sack falling from the back. I rethreaded both straps through the turnbuckles and checked that I couldn't loosen them without intentionally doing so. I can't tell for sure if these straps were initially inserted the wrong way around in the turnbuckle, but after I install them they are very strong. Another very minor complaint is that the main compartment of the bag has a small zipped pocket that is completely flat and sits between the main compartment and the back of the wearer. If you're trying to use this zip pocket for something that might be pressing against your back when there's no room for a bulge in the main compartment, there's a good compartment for that to add some light upper back padding. All in all, I'm blown away. Aside from the quality and price of this backpack, it is extremely versatile with MOLLE webbing and my bag is totally waterproof. I was walking in the park with some gear in my backpack when the flash flood hit, I spent almost 10 minutes walking to my car up the hill when it rained, I was soaked from head to toe when I got to my house came. vehicle, like a backpack. I was worried it would damage my laptop and other water sensitive equipment, but when I opened the bag the only water was in it, a few drops from my hand when I opened it. Just unbelievable. I cannot recommend a better backpack at this price point to anyone interested in this type of bag.
