I absolutely LOVE this swimsuit (including the front headband which some other reviewers don't like)! I'm 5'7", 145 lbs and wear size 12 pants, large tops and 38B bra. Suggest size 12. Size 14 top fits me perfectly and is just the right design to minimize postmenopausal weight gain down the middle.The empire waist with a slightly looser front works wonders and the solid black color is very flattering!I have yet to try this suit in the water.Hope it doesn't stretch too much and the nice, wide, stylish, adjustable shoulder straps fall off! with a piece of black satin ribbon. As for "boy shorts" - BLEH. Uncomfortably tight and small, not really that much longer than briefs, but much more uncomfortable. I was planning to Thought to wear the black drawstring nylon shorts over the supplied underpants (out of modesty) but when I saw how uncomfortable the shorts are for a boy I probably threw them together and just put on the nylon shorts.Swimwear trunks are vie l Easier to find than tops as pretty as these, so it's not a big deal. Exchange and buy another bottom you like best. The swim dress is fully attached to the bottom of the buttocks and the top of the thigh. The only real downside to this suit in my opinion is that the material looks like it will bleed. After trying the suit on, a little black washed off my hands. The washing instructions on the Revain seller page (last 'photo' provided) include instructions for soaking the suit in salt water for a few hours before first use and then hand washing in cold water. So be warned. I'll probably treat my bathing suit with some "Rit Color Stay Dye Fixative" that I've had since I heard salt baths aren't that effective. I don't have personal experience anyway, but I'd try something for color fastness if I were you. This swimsuit suits me! The price is probably average depending on whether you need to buy another floor or not.
