Review on Sceptre E248W FPT Business Speakers: HD 1920X1080P, 75Hz, Blue Light Filter, HDMI by Atlantahaus Knight

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Screen quality is great for the price, but there are audio issues.

I bought two of these for a dual monitor setup and have generally been happy with the monitors. The monitors are lightweight, have thin bezels and excellent image quality. I installed them on a separately purchased dual monitor stand, so I don't use the original monitor stands and can report that the monitors attach to the VESA mount stand with ease. I originally planned to connect the speakers to the audio out of one of the monitors to hide the cables on my desk, but in the end I decided not to use the audio through those monitors. The audio output on both of my monitors has ground loop hum so it's unbearable unless I use a ground loop isolator to fix the audio. Even with the isolator added, the audio volume is very low, so I plugged the speakers into a docking station instead. Instead I was able to test the audio output through my Dell monitor and it works properly, and I've tested these monitors with several different computers and I've seen the same behavior on all of them. Also, as other reviewers mention, the sound quality and volume from the monitor's built-in speakers is quite low. If you were just using it to check voicemail in a really quiet environment they would probably work just fine, but I wouldn't recommend using the audio capabilities on this monitor.
