If you need a charger and a pinch, this will definitely hold you back until you buy a genuine Microsoft charger. The magnet on this charger is so weak you can't even move the surface without it falling out. Also, the LED on the charger flashes while charging, which I don't think should happen. It works out. If you need a cheap charger right now but I wouldn't trust it to be reliable in the long run.
