This one was a little bigger than I needed, but it easily fits on the bedside table for a lot of things. No, it's not real leather, it's PU, an artificial coating on another fabric, with a soft suede-style inner fabric. It didn't bother me. Looks attractive enough. The real problem, however, was the latches that held the corners in place. Two of them were almost impossible to secure. Finally I gave in and asked my husband to try it. He's a big guy, but he had to use a compression tool (okay, pliers and a soft cloth) with a lot of force to get it done. I almost sent it back but once assembled the latch compartment holds my glasses perfectly and protects them from the watch, cellphone and sharp objects. Four stars for that. However, if I were to use it for travel (who wants to leave their personal belongings on the bedside table in a hotel?) it would come right back as we don't usually travel with tongs. Objectively it serves its purpose. Maybe I just got a broken one, but don't send it back hoping the next one will be better.
