This player delivers what it promises. I don't like playing MP3s at 48kbps, but I'm glad I can play 170 songs at 132kbps in 4 minutes. an average song and a 700MB CD (their claim) instead of the staggering 490 on a CD. The fine print on the back of the box was blue and very difficult to read. So be careful, a 300MHz Pentium II processor is the minimum requirement for the Atrac3Plus compression software. I won't list all of the other computer requirements, but I encourage you to review them before purchasing if the Atrac3Plus feature is important to you. Incidentally, this format is only played on CD players that can obviously or less obviously read this format. You will most likely like this player if you need it for your car and/or home. It finds MP3 songs fairly quickly (faster than my old Rio player) and continues playing where you left off unless you hold down the play button. One problem I had with my model is that track forward and rewind doesn't work as the manual says with MP3s on my CD-RWs, but works fine with my CDs, hmm. Another feature I would like to see to make this player even better is a carrying case with a belt clip. Although it comes with Velcro for in-car play, I usually manage to accidentally knock the player over at the end. The carrying case offers additional protection against damage. Hope that helps.
