Not very good for hiking

I tried them on a 7 mile hike in the snow. The snow was mostly packed, and there was ice all over the track. I had a hard time putting them in the right place on my (Merrell's) studded shoes. The spikes on the back heel landed in the middle of my shoe. I wear 8.5 shoes and bought a small. I stretched them a little and they got a little better. They performed reasonably well when walking on flat or descending trails. As they climbed the mountain, they continued to tiptoe and slip. A few spikes came off towards the end of the hike and I had to stop many times to reattach them to my shoes. Despite all of this, I didn't slip at all and stayed upright throughout the hike, which was the goal. I threw them away at the end of the trip. It would be fine for lighter use, but I'm buying several Yaktrac Pros for future hikes.
