It's an absolutely massive screen with very impressive brightness and very deep blacks, even without HDR enabled. The backlight does not flicker at all. With HDMI 2.0 I can stream 4K 60Hz through my AV receiver which is great but I had to toggle some hidden settings on the receiver to get it to recognize this monitor as 4K. Colors are good in Standard mode, except for some reason the edges of red objects look washed out and pixelated. The rest of the colors are unaffected - it's just red. For example, if you try to type MS Word text with red text, the borders will look terrible, but any other color will look fine. I reproduced this on two different computers, one running Windows and the other running MacOS. However, HDR was an issue. First, my Mac has HDR enabled by default. With HDR enabled on the device, the colors get incredibly washed out. Switching the color space to HDR in the monitor settings largely evens out that washed-out appearance, making everything look ridiculously oversaturated and bright. With HDR, artifacts similar to JPEG compression artifacts appear across the entire screen. On Windows 10, when I enable HDR, the screen just goes black.
