I bought this as a keepsake for my little cat's ashes so I could keep some of her with me (she's been with me for 19 years). I waited for her ashes to be returned to me only to find that it was NOT empty as I expected and I was only able to place a small amount of her ashes inside. When I then put the necklace on, I found that the chain was very short and a little tighter than I would have liked. I will still keep it as a keepsake of her, but for those who buy it and are expecting your pet's remains, buy a cylindrical locket instead as only a pinch of ashes will fit inside.
