Review on Lindsay LSA84-EQ8: Advanced 4-Port Signal Amplifier & Splitter with Passive Return for Cable TV, Antenna, HDTV, and Internet by Christopher Sullivan

Perfect for my application

I decided to shorten the cable and use a free to air HDTV antenna. However, I live in a hollow and the power lines are not visible. Also, bad weather, swaying tree branches, airplanes approaching the airport, and freeway traffic on a hilltop right in front of me, right in the signal's path, constantly disrupt the signal. I built a large 4 bay butterfly antenna to mount in the attic. This design was significantly better than most commercially available antennas and was the most forgiving of signal dropouts. Antenna - through the attic, through the walls and through the underground. This amp is perfect for this application. This eliminates signal loss from splitters and long cables. It was easy to install and comes with a power supply and two plugs for unused amplifier outputs. I bought high quality long distance 3GHz RG6 low loss coaxial cable. My signal is now strong on both TVs. The well-written manual that comes with the amp describes its features and limitations very clearly. It clearly states that it will enhance whatever is fed to it. If you feed it a poor quality signal, it will only amplify that poor quality signal. It is therefore extremely important to feed it a clean signal with an antenna that is properly designed and positioned for your particular situation. The results were fantastic.
