I load my own ammunition and as such, accuracy and consistency are key. I have used a beam balance for years and while slow to use, it does give good results. I never had interest in digital scales marketed by the usual suspects in the sport shooting arena because their accuracy are all the same at +/- 0.1 grains. A .2 grain variance on my loading bench is a LOT and is unacceptable. I normally weigh small quantities of propellant; 25 up to say 45 grains is typical. So, when I saw an advertised accuracy of +/- 0. 02 grains, I was interested and ordered this scale. There is a whale of a lot of difference between .04 grains and .2 grains! This little digital balance does the trick for me. However, there are a few 'how to's' I recommend. Here's what I have found works best for me:1. When adding propellant to your tray, you will see the value displayed on the scale continually increases as you'd expect. However, if you lift the tray off the scale, allow the scale to settle and place the tray on the scale again, the value shown will be higher than what you started with. My solution then is to lift the tray off the balance when my target weight is close (but lower of course) and allow the scale to settle, replace the tray and trickle in a few pieces of propellant, lift and replace the tray again and allow to settle. I quickly got 'good' at doing this and this method is actually easier and faster than using my tried and true beam balance.I have seen zero drift on any value thus far. It displays a consistent value until it times out.CON: I wish there was some way to disable the auto off function. I think it's about 30 seconds as is. When I first started using the scale, it would auto off before I was finished weighing and I'd have to start over. The method I described above will keep the scale active. i.e. I loaded 11 x .308 rounds today, one at a time and the scale never timed out on me.Definitely recommended! Good luck and keep 'em in the X ring!
