This was the first time I used a safety razor after people commented on how good they are. I can say they are 10 times better than your 3 5 blade razors. This razor is very sharp and got rid of my hair in just one stroke. I have the feeling that I can shave much better and faster than with normal plastic razors. I used to use Venus type razors or other branded razors that already contain the necessary gel. It would take me 2-3 strokes to shave my legs and arms and this razor would require me to shave ONCE. cuts from it. This requires a lot of patience and use this razor with gentle strokes or you will get burns and cuts from the razor. I accidentally cut myself twice, but I was just clumsy.
