I recently went on a long hike through rough terrain and it helped me organize my backpack well. Packing and unpacking throughout the day was such a breeze and I used them to carry everything from my toiletry bag to tools and water bottles to bedding/clothes and shoes. The compression system works great; they are easy to wash and dry; breathable, lightweight, flexible and easy to fold (or compress like parachute material). Each pack has double zips which is also very helpful and they are high quality zips that will not snag. I probably just want you to be able to resize the cubes to your liking, unlike SML. If I had a choice I would take two small and two medium. However, this is the best packing cube set I have ever purchased. A word of caution - air dry them; A friend accidentally put my cubes in the dryer and they turned into deformed objects. Keep in mind that the big cube is pretty massive; and if you are looking for something that will hold its shape well, this is NOT it.
