I'm really disappointed with this printer

I'm really disappointed with this printer but I've been evaluating it for too long so I can't return it now. I come from a similar, older Canon model (Pixma MX860). Compared to Canon. Here's what I don't like: 1. I find PDF scans very faint and blurry (compared to the quality of my previous scanner) - this is unfortunate as I scan documents far more often than I print them. The maximum resolution when scanning a PDF file is 300 ppi (pixels per inch). If you want to scan with a higher resolution, you need to scan it as an image (gif, jpeg, etc.).2. I have noticed that all of the pages that I feed through the automatic document feeder are slightly curled. I couldn't solve this problem. I haven't seen anyone else complain about this, so it's probably just an issue with my particular printer. I've been lucky. 3. It's really my fault for not realizing that before I bought it, but this model does NOT do automatic duplex scanning - you'll have to buy a more expensive model for that. 4. HP seems to have several software tools that you can download and use with this printer, making it very confusing. They really need to streamline their software tools and focus on providing a good user experience. It's also my fault for not realizing before I bought it, but there's only one paper tray. My old Canon had a main paper tray where I kept clean paper and a rear tray where I kept used paper with a clean side that I could reuse. You can purchase an additional paper tray for this printer, but this will incur an additional cost and add a few inches to the height of the printer. A couple of good things I can say about this printer is that it seems to be very economical on ink. The cartridges we received lasted us for several months. Also, the print quality seems good too, although we haven't printed any photos on it yet. I would not buy this printer again and may try to sell it if I find another printer that meets all my needs. at a reasonable price.
