Review on Experience Unmatched Speed and Style with Razer Huntsman Elite Gaming Keyboard: Clicky Optical Switches and Chroma RGB Lighting by Christina Adams

5 star keyboard but 1 star software with lock

I will update if they ever change the firmware that fixes their color profile issue. It's an amazing keyboard except when you're offline or without the Razor 3.0 software (still in beta) which is the only way to load your color profile. This means it defaults to RGB color shifting (they can easily release a firmware change that makes it 1 solid white, or load the first saved profile from internal storage). However, when you're offline or logged in with no software loaded, the default keyboard has a terrible color profile that keeps changing colors. For the price of a keyboard and in 2020, that's unacceptable. Razor built an amazing keyboard and then got it wrong on a detail like this. By the way, the wrist is amazing. The customer support when asking for software is TERRIBLE. They don't understand the problem or by default claim it is because the provided software is in beta testing. This too is unacceptable. If you're ok with this issue, you'll find yourself with one of the most responsive keyboards I've ever used (you can also order Cherry's 0ms response from their website, but it also costs more than what they sell tell you that you do not speak ). Media Keys - respond to both a normal press and Shift + a media key. With no software specified, it controls both my audio player (foobar) and my video player (VLC) without any conflicts. However, I can't find any documentation for this feature (spent a bit of time searching the web and the Razer site). Razer needs to figure out that when you're paying so much money for a keyboard, the lack of these parts can lead to bad reviews.

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to
Cons
  • The list will be long.
