Final score: Received replacement, box not opened before long drive. The day before we were scheduled to leave, I took out the cooler and found that the top didn't fit the base because the top didn't fit the base. Was a total loss and completely ineffective. I do not recommend this product. We are planning a long trip, connected the fridge to the jack battery and started 12V. The refrigerator worked for 3 hours, the jack from the refrigerator was overheated. This seems to be a design flaw and a problem. Considering the price, short trips to the store, and 24/7 operation, this keeps groceries cool, not cold. Now my only concern is I hope I haven't ruined the battery, which I really like. The size, design and compactness of this portable refrigerator caught my attention. It keeps cold when camping, works in the store on hot days, even as a backup fridge for groceries, this small fridge is a good product. I have only used it once so far but we are planning to use it for an upcoming long trip. I agree with another reviewer that I don't necessarily intend to store raw meat in it for an extended period of time, but the instructions are very clear about placing frozen cubes (included) and frozen food on the bottom and moving the food up will stay cooler. I recommend this refrigerator (price is good) with the understanding that it does not replace a refrigerator and does not serve as such for a long trip.
