Update 6/20/22: I almost cut my finger recently when the liner lock failed to completely engage. A lock that works 99% of the time is not good enough. I am reducing my rating. Otherwise the knife still looks good and stays sharp although I wish it said VG10 on the blade.As good a knife as I have ever seen, and light enough at 74g (2.5oz) to disappear in your pocket. The blade has a 3-D look and you can actually feel the "Damascus” layers. Of course this is modern Damascus, but Takefu VG-10 is hard, wear resistant and easy to sharpen. I would have preferred that it was labeled as such (picture). The only real downside is that the knife is likely to develop legs.I disagree with a previous reviewer who said, "This piece is firmly in gentleman's folder territory. This is a gorgeous piece for a collector or to use at your desk or something, but I'm in a trade and can't see this withstanding the inevitable rigorous use it would see in my pocket.”This goes back to the bogus concept that a person should have an EDC, a knife carried everyday all day, a knife for every conceivable purpose. No such thing.If you are cutting fiberglass insulation or shingles you don’t use your pocket knife. If you work in a warehouse, opening 1000 boxes would also ruin it. Do you pry open a paint can with you pocket knife or use it to pound a nail? Only the proper tool for the job. Leave work and the tools behind and you can now be a gentleman and are entitled to a few finer things. Being a gentleman is a state of mind and fine things don’t have to be expensive. I bought this knife when Best Buy had it on sale.
