Nice minimalist design but wrong factory fit

I have mixed feelings about this item. Generally disappointed. But I kept it anyway. Pros: Same line as the computer desk we just bought so it's nice to have a set to match (from Ave Six; Gilbert model desk). Simple, clean, modern/contemporary design. Lightweight and easy to move. Easy assembly (theoretically) with a couple of screws and an Allen key. 30"H x 15"D is a useful and practical size (a very standard size). Cons: The countertop finish was a bit different than what we ordered and expected. The surface should be glossy, not slightly matte. Also, it's a bit dull and less bright cream colored than the same desk. Poorly made. The white wood parts (MDF) weren't precisely carved in the factory (in China), so we couldn't easily assemble the table. I had to file the corners on the bottom panel where they were cut to fit the metal frame. Not impossible, but painful. It's not an expensive table, but it's so minimalist in design that even someone with the most basic construction skills can cut the pieces to size.
