This device is easy to use. The filter is packed in a plastic bag and you have to twist the outer case VERY hard to open the device. Make sure you remove the filter and plastic bag - this is cheating and I can see how someone could make the mistake of running the unit with the filter wrapped in plastic which would be very bad. My device is not working properly - it has slow, medium and high fan indicators. The power button is pressed to switch between three speeds. Low and medium speeds work fine. The high speed turns on for about 5 seconds and then turns off again. The high speed didn't work on my device, which is disappointing. I bought this to get rid of a teenage order - and what I love about it is that we can put it in my son's room, it's quiet and can work day and night to get rid of odors. I give 3 stars because the high speed doesn't work.
