The box arrived broken but the island didn't seem damaged as it was well packed. However, there were small nicks in the wood, a slightly bent corner on the bottom shelf, and light scratches on the top shelf. It doesn't really bother me so I assembled it anyway. When assembled, some holes did not match perfectly, making assembly difficult. We left all the screws loose and they didn't align, we tightened them but they still didn't align. which attaches to the side of the device, there was welding material in the screw hole, making it impossible to attach with the supplied screw as the thread was covered. Drawer handles are factory fitted. As you can see in the attached photo they are crooked. Overall this is a good addition to our kitchen but not what I expected for the price.
