Works with monitor where others don't

This adapter works much better than other adapters I have used. Others asked me to disconnect and reconnect the monitor's HDMI cable after the Mac went to sleep in order for the monitor to be recognized again. My IT department told me it was a "bug in Mac OS". But that shouldn't be true because this adapter doesn't ask me to. It detects the HDMI connection to the monitor when the Mac wakes up from sleep.
