Summers are hot and muggy in Atlanta and our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is having a tough time. Lately after a walk she had symptoms of heat exhaustion - she couldn't drink without gagging, her hind legs were buckled, she looked stunned, as if she didn't recognize me. Eventually she stopped breathing for about 2 seconds, convulsing and shuddering. It was very scary to see and experience. I rushed to her bath and filled her with cold water and luckily that helped her come to her senses. It wasn't a very hot day maybe 79 degrees but due to the heat emanating from the pavement in some places I'm sure dogs are affected much quicker when they are so close to the ground and have limited opportunities to cool down . This cooling vest changed my dog for the WORLD. Now she can take our 30 minute morning walks with no problem and when we get home she recovers much faster. Size wise, she weighs 27 pounds (she is thin, just above breed standard) and is an average size fit. Happy to bring relief to my baby!
