Review on Aluminum 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub by Rocketek by David Naranjo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice adapter

I got tired of reaching for the back of my iMac to connect my USB devices and SD cards, so I started looking for a hub. That's when I stumbled upon this Rocketek hub that was specially designed for iMac. The hub does exactly what you need it to do - providing easy and quick access to SD cards and USB devices right in front of you. The aluminum perfectly matches the color and texture of the iMac and fits snugly on the underside. In case you're wondering how it attaches, the adapter has a series of prongs at the top that fit into the vents at the bottom of the display. Then tighten the screw on the back of the hub to secure it. I've plugged and unplugged the USB cables a few times and the hub stays in place. However, the hub is not perfect. Firstly, the quality of the connectors could be better (e.g. the SD slot is flat and a bit imprecise when inserting a card). Second, I don't see the need/reason for the blue LED on the front. It distracts and conveys nothing but power (which I'm already aware of). Third, when cards and cables are inserted into the ports, the screen folds back, requiring you to hold the screen with your other hand while you insert the card/cable to keep it from moving. Those issues aside, I find this device cosmetically pleasing and useful.
