Decent quality playpen/playground but not exactly portable...

I have collected everything from lawnmowers to exercise bikes to playpens. This playpen/playground is very durable, but it requires patience to assemble. I have assembled several playpens and they do NOT look like Graco or any other brand. They don't just pop out of the box and are ready to use in minutes. This particular playground, which I'll continue to refer to, isn't as big as the pair I've put together. Please check the dimensions and the place you want to place it before purchasing. The instructions aren't the best, but doable. Be very careful with what you do or you will quickly run into problems. For example, if you want to add a gusset to the bottom, make sure you have ones with suction cups. I usually place them in each corner before I need them. Pick a time when it's quiet, if possible, and when you're quiet (easier said than done). I grabbed a small snack and turned on the movie. I did it in under an hour but I'm very experienced at assembling a playpen including this type. Unlike some of these arenas, I didn't have such problems with pipes. They went into any joint I wanted with relative ease. I wear a pair of nitrile gloves so I have the extra grip I need. There are no bindings to mess with, making things easier. Don't try to deploy it at build time as that won't work. Methodical assembly is the key to success. Gloves definitely make holding these whistles easier. I needed some leverage and a good grip on the pipes and any connections I was working on. For larger playgrounds I may need an additional helper. I didn't need it with this particular setup, but I could use an extra hand for the last part. I would also recommend mounting exactly where you intend to use that arena/play area as disassembly is only required occasionally. The very last corner connection is always the most difficult. I have to concentrate and use some muscle power, but it's not as difficult as on the big pitches. Again, pay attention to these instructions. I laid out my tubing before inserting it into the fabric. Luckily, all of the pipes in this setup are the same size, minimizing the chance for error. Before you assemble this playground, do a little planning. The quality is good, as good as any playpen/playground I've assembled. The assembly did not cause any particular difficulties, but not for the patient. This one has no lining and no lining on the bottom. If you put it on the carpet, it's ok. If you have a hard floor or are placing it outside, you will need a pad. It really isn't portable and certainly not strong enough for a toddler to stand up and shake at the sides. Better than some but if you don't have the patience or have a very active toddler, grab a pass. There is a carry bag and a few extra items. It's very difficult to take apart, so it's definitely not a portable model.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet
